Zog, Zola, and Mom Dragon went for a walk. The Whispering Forest was bright and green.
They saw a little nest, high up in a tree. Three tiny, speckled eggs lay inside.
"Where is the Tui mother?" Zog asked softly. The cozy nest was all alone.
Mom Dragon looked at the precious eggs. "We will keep them safe," she said.
Zog and Zola sat very, very still. They watched the quiet nest, waiting.
The sun began to set, low and slow. Stars twinkled in the darkening sky.
A soft, grey light touched the tall trees. Morning was almost, almost here.
Swoosh! A Tui flew quickly to her nest. She saw the big dragons standing there!
"Go away!" chirped the Tui fiercely. "Don't touch my precious, precious eggs!"
Mom Dragon spoke in a soft, kind voice. "We kept them warm, little Tui bird."
