Meet Zoe! A clever inventor with bright, curious eyes and messy pigtails. Her pockets were always full of tools.
Her biggest dream? To build a magnificent rainbow bridge, stretching from her garden to the fluffy clouds!
Zoe drew plans, called blueprints, on big sheets of paper. She gathered colorful planks, shiny gears, and sturdy ropes.
"First, a strong, flat path!" she declared. With Grandpa George's help, she laid out the first long section.
Grandpa George, with his kind smile, showed Zoe how to fasten the planks together tightly. "Good connections make strong structures!"
Day after day, Zoe added more planks, reaching higher and higher. Her bridge was long and straight!
"Almost to the clouds!" she cheered, climbing onto her creation. But then... *wobble, wobble!*
The straight planks shook! The tall supports bent! *CRASH!* Her beautiful bridge tumbled down.
Zoe sat sadly among the scattered planks. "It just won't stay up!" she sighed, a tear in her eye.
Grandpa George found her. "Sometimes, Zoe, we need a different shape for strength," he said softly.
He picked up some wooden blocks. "See how a flat line falls?" He built a straight line of blocks that toppled.
But watch this!" He carefully built an arch, adding a special block at the very top. "This shape is strong!"
Zoe looked at the arch, then at a rainbow in the sky. "An arch! Like a smile!" she exclaimed.
Her imagination sparked! Zoe drew new blueprints, this time with beautiful, curving arches and strong triangles.
