Zara Zebra loved to run! Her hooves flew over the grassy plains. The wind tickled her black and white stripes. Running made her feel free and happy.
But sometimes, Zara watched the cheetahs. Chico and Cleo zoomed past like golden blurs. They were so, so fast! Zara wished she could run just like them.
Zara felt a little sad. "I'm not fast enough," she sighed. Her beautiful stripes didn't feel special anymore. She just wanted to be speedy.
One sunny afternoon, a wise old friend appeared. It was Theodore Tortoise, with his ancient, mossy shell. He moved very slowly, but always with a gentle smile.
"Zara," Theodore said softly, "why the long face? Your stripes are wonderful! They tell your unique story." Zara looked down at her bold patterns.
"Your speed is your own," Theodore continued. "It's perfect for *you*. Find joy in your own pace, Zara, and in your amazing stripes!"
Zara thought about Theodore's words. Her stripes were special! Her own pace was her own. A wonderful idea began to bubble inside her, making her heart flutter.
"I know!" she exclaimed. "We can have a fun run! Not about speed, but about joy!" She started drawing plans in the sand with her hoof.
Zara invited everyone! Pip Penguin, Leo Lion Cub, and Ellie Elephant Calf. Even Gigi Giraffe wanted to join. "A Stripes Fun Run!" she announced proudly.
The big day arrived! Animals of all shapes and sizes gathered. Some were fast, some were slow. Everyone had different colours and patterns. Laughter filled the air.
