Zara and the Gentle Rain

Zara, a brave little zebra, loved adventure! Her black and white stripes shimmered under the hot sun. She lived on the edge of the Sunny Savannah.

But the Savannah was very dry. A perpetual drought made the earth cracked and thirsty. Zara held a special, old map passed down in her family.

This map showed the legendary Rainbow Waterfall. Rumor said it could bring rain! Zara packed her small water bottle and a juicy succulent plant.

With a hopeful heart, Zara began her journey. The dusty path stretched far ahead. She followed the map's squiggly lines carefully.

Soon, she saw a tall, sad giraffe. It was Leo, his long neck drooped low. His dusty fur looked dull. 'Oh, dear,' Zara whispered.

'I'm so thirsty,' Leo sighed, his voice raspy. 'The high leaves are dry, and I can't reach the low ones.' He looked very weary.

Zara remembered her succulent! 'Here, Leo,' she offered. 'This plant holds water inside.' Leo nibbled gratefully, feeling a little better.

'Thank you, little zebra!' Leo said. 'The waterfall is past the Whispering Rocks.' He pointed with his nose, feeling stronger.

Zara continued, feeling warm inside. Then, she saw a large, confused rhino. It was Rory, bumping into a thorny bush.

'I'm lost,' Rory grumbled, rubbing his horn. 'I can't find my family. We were searching for water, but everything is dry.'

Zara looked at her map. 'Your family went past the Twin Baobab trees!' she chirped. 'I saw their tracks heading that way.'

'Oh, thank you, brave Zara!' Rory trumpeted. He lumbered off, now knowing where to go. Zara felt happy to help.

Zara felt tired, but her goal was near. The map showed she was very close. She heard a faint, gentle trickling sound.
