Yasmine was a gazelle with a joyful heart and swift hooves. She loved to leap and twirl under the big, blue sky.
But when she tried to dance with the other gazelles, her movements felt… different. She wobbled when they glided.
"Look at Yasmine!" they would whisper. "So clumsy! She trips over her own feet!" Yasmine felt a pang in her heart.
Yasmine felt left out. She wished her leaps were as smooth and perfect as theirs. She wished she wasn't so… unique.
One sunny afternoon, Oliver the Ostrich saw Yasmine sitting sadly. Oliver was known for his kind eyes and very long, wobbly neck.
"Why the long face, little gazelle?" Oliver asked gently. Yasmine explained how her dancing felt all wrong.
Oliver chuckled softly. "Wrong? Or just different? My neck is so long, I can't hide! But it helps me see far."
"Your leaps are not clumsy," Oliver said. "They are full of energy! They are like tiny bursts of sunshine!"
"Perhaps," Oliver suggested, "we could make a dance where every special movement is celebrated. A dance troupe!"
Yasmine felt a little nervous, but also excited. Could her "clumsy" leaps truly be part of something wonderful?
They began to practice. Yasmine tried her energetic twirls, and Oliver made grand, sweeping gestures with his neck.
Soon, other animals watched. A shy chameleon, a bouncing bunny, even a wobbly warthog joined their joyful practice.
Each friend had a unique way of moving. The chameleon blended and swayed. The bunny bounced with delight. The warthog stomped with glee.
Together, they created a magnificent dance. It was unlike any dance the savannah had ever seen. The other gazelles watched.
