📖 Read the Story

High on a hill, in a spooky old castle, lived a little bat named Vlad.

Vlad watched the world below. He wished for a friend to share his quiet nights.

But Vlad was shy. He was a bat, different from others. He only came out after dark.

One night, Vlad flew silently from his castle home, feeling very alone.

Suddenly, a tiny, warm light twinkled near a big, gnarled oak tree. What could it be?

"Hello!" chirped a tiny voice. A shimmering firefly, Luna, zipped closer.

Vlad felt shy. "I'm Vlad," he whispered. "I'm a bat. I fly in the dark."

Luna giggled. "Wow! Your wings are amazing! I have wings too, but they're tiny!"

"I love the night," said Luna. "It's when I shine brightest!"

"I love the night too," Vlad said softly. "It's when I can soar freely."
