Vali, a spirited girl with bright, curious eyes, loved her home in the vast African savanna.
One sunny morning, Vali played near the sparkling waterhole, humming a happy tune.
Suddenly, a soft, sad trumpeting sound floated on the warm breeze. Vali stopped playing.
Peeking through the leafy bushes, Vali saw a tiny baby elephant, all alone.
Its big, brown eyes looked so lost. Vali's heart felt a little squeeze of worry.
She knew she had to help. This little one needed its mama and its family.
Vali spotted fresh, big footprints leading into the tall, golden grass. "They went this way!"
The grass was taller than Vali, rustling like whispers, making her feel small and a little scared.
But the baby elephant let out another soft, lonely cry. Vali took a deep, brave breath.
Step by careful step, Vali pushed through the rustling stalks, the baby elephant trotting close behind.
Suddenly, a long, spotted neck poked above the grass. It was Gigi, the friendly giraffe!
Gigi looked down with her soft, knowing eyes. "Lost a little one?" she seemed to ask.
Vali explained the problem. Gigi nodded slowly, her long eyelashes blinking.
"I can see far!" Gigi whispered, her voice like soft leaves. "Follow me, little friends!"
