The Very, Very Hard Story
A tiny, book-loving mouse named Pip, with the help of his bumblebee and hedgehog friends, learns that the most stubborn stories often require the most gentle touch and patience to reveal their wondrous adventures.

Pip Squeakerton loved stories more than cheese, and that was saying a lot! His cozy nook was stuffed with books, big and small, fat and thin.
One sunny morning, while tidying his shelves, Pip found a book heβd never seen before. It was very big, very grey, and felt surprisingly heavy.
"Oh, what a grand adventure this must hold!" he squeaked, trying to open it. He pulled and tugged, but the book wouldn't budge. Not even a tiny bit!
"It's a very, very hard story!" Pip puffed, wiping his brow. "I need help! Barnaby! Penelope! Come quick!"
Barnaby Bumble hummed over, and Penelope Prickle trotted closer. They poked and prodded the strange, stiff book. It felt like a solid rock.
"Perhaps," Barnaby hummed slowly, "it just needs to warm up! Like honey on a cold morning. We should take it to the sunshine!"
So, they carefully carried the heavy book outside, past giant flowers and wobbly toadstools, to the warmest, sunniest spot in the garden.
They left it baking in the sun for an hour. Barnaby fanned it, Pip poked it, but when they tried again, the book was just warm and still very, very hard.
"Nonsense, Barnaby," Penelope huffed. "Warmth makes things stiffer sometimes. Clearly, it needs to be *softened*. We should dip it in the brook!"
With a collective heave-ho, they lowered the stubborn story into the cool, gurgling brook. Bubbles tickled their noses as the water swirled around it.
After a good soak, the book was soggy and drippy, but still just as hard as ever! It smelled a bit like pond water now, too.
Pip sighed. "Maybe it doesn't need to be forced open," he mused. "Perhaps it just needs a *gentle* nudge. A very, very gentle touch!"
Pip found a fluffy feather and began to tickle the book's spine. "Coochie-coo!" he whispered. Barnaby giggled so hard he almost fell into the brook.
Barnaby thought a lullaby might help. He hummed a deep, rumbling tune, gently rocking the book. It was very sweet, but the book remained fast asleep.
