The Mouse and the Mechanical Mutt

Milo was a brave mouse with enormous ears and a heart full of curiosity. He loved cheese more than anything! He lived high in a grand old clock tower.

His home was filled with giant, whirring gears and the steady *tick-tock* of time. Milo explored every dusty nook and cranny, always seeking adventure.

One sunny morning, while exploring a forgotten corner, Milo noticed something peculiar. A loose brick in the wall seemed to beckon him closer.

His big ears twitched. *Squeak!* He pushed the brick gently with his nose. It slid aside, revealing a tiny, dark opening.

Brave Milo squeezed through the passage. It was dusty and quiet, leading him deeper into the tower's secrets. Where could it go?

He tumbled into a hidden room! It was filled with forgotten treasures: a rocking horse, a doll with one button eye, and wooden blocks.

Dust motes danced in the air. Old toys, once loved, now sat still and silent. It was a magical, quiet place.

Then, Milo spotted it! A robot dog, made of tarnished brass and copper. Its blue eyes were dark, and it lay perfectly still.

Curious, Milo gently nudged the robot dog's cold, brass nose with his paw. *Click!* A tiny switch flipped.

*WHIRRRR!* The robot dog's bright blue eyes suddenly glowed! It stretched, a springy tail wagging. It was awake!

"Woof!" barked the robot dog, its head tilting. It thought Milo was a brand-new, exciting chew toy!

Milo squeaked! This was not a friendly greeting. The robot dog, Sparky, began to chase him, *clack-clack-clack!*

Milo scurried out of the room, Sparky hot on his tiny heels. Up and down the clock tower, the chase was on!
