Zoe loved the beach! Her curly hair bounced as she ran. Her mom, a marine biologist, loved it too.

They explored amazing tide pools. "Look, Mom! A purple anemone!" Zoe exclaimed, pointing with wonder.

Mom taught Zoe about tiny crabs and shimmering fish. The ocean was full of secrets.

One sunny morning, they found something new. "What's that, Mom?" Zoe whispered, eyes wide.

It was a tiny baby sea turtle! Its flippers wiggled weakly. It was stranded.

"Oh, dear," Mom said softly. "This little hatchling needs our help, Zoe."

Mom carefully scooped the turtle into a bucket of cool seawater. "We must be very gentle."

"Where did it come from?" Zoe asked. Mom explained, "It hatched from a nest on the sand."

Baby turtles race to the ocean after hatching. This one got lost.

Zoe watched the tiny turtle paddle in the bucket. Its shell was smooth and green.

"Sea turtles are amazing creatures," Mom said. "They swim across whole oceans!"

"But they face many dangers. Plastic in the ocean can hurt them."

Zoe frowned. "We need to keep the ocean clean for them, Mom."

They walked to a quiet part of the beach. "This is a safe spot," Mom explained.
