Maya, a bouncy kangaroo joey with a bright blue bandana, was practically hopping off the moon! Today was a very special day.

It was her very first sleepover! She was going to stay at her best friend Pip’s house, all by herself.

"Have a wonderful time, my little joey," Mama Kangaroo whispered, giving Maya a warm, comforting nuzzle with her soft nose.

Maya hopped all the way to Pip's cozy burrow, nestled beside a gently bubbling creek. Pip was waiting, wiggling with excitement!

They played hide-and-seek among the tall, fragrant gum trees, giggling until their little joey bellies ached.

They shared crunchy, sweet leaves and told silly stories, their imaginations soaring high like eagles in the sky.

But as the sun dipped low, painting the sky in sleepy oranges and purples, a quiet, unfamiliar feeling began to stir.

Pip snuggled deep into his mossy bed. "Time for sleepy-sleeps!" he yawned, already half-asleep and content.

Maya tried to snuggle too, but a funny, wobbly feeling fluttered in her tummy. Her cozy home suddenly felt very far away.

A tear, round and warm, rolled down her cheek. She missed Mama’s warm pouch, her familiar bedtime song.

Just then, a soft “tap-tap” came from the burrow entrance. It was Mama Kangaroo, her silhouette framed by the moonlight!

"My little joey," Mama whispered, scooping Maya into her warm, familiar pouch. "I know that wobbly feeling."

"Let's make something special," Mama said, her wise eyes twinkling like distant stars. "A 'Home-Sweet-Home Adventure Box'!"
