Samira had a head full of dreams. She loved to imagine faraway lands and hidden treasures, but most of all, she dreamed of the stars.

One rainy afternoon, when outdoor adventures were impossible, Samira decided to explore a different kind of faraway land: her own attic.

Dust motes danced in the single beam of light as she carefully tiptoed past forgotten boxes and old furniture. What wonders might be hiding here?

Tucked away in a dark corner, under a faded canvas sheet, she found something truly extraordinary. It was long and dark, made of gleaming brass.

"A telescope!" she whispered, her heart doing a little flip. It looked old, almost ancient, but Samira knew exactly what it was for.

She tried to peer through the eyepiece, but everything was blurry and dark. The telescope seemed stuck, and she couldn't make it work.

Samira felt a little discouraged. How could she explore the stars if her special tool wouldn't cooperate? Then, she remembered someone who knew everything about the sky.

Grandpa Leo, her very own retired astronomer, lived just down the road. He had once worked at a grand observatory, studying distant galaxies.

Samira carefully wheeled the dusty telescope to Grandpa Leo's house. "Grandpa," she announced, "I need your help to reach the stars!"

Grandpa Leo’s eyes twinkled when he saw the old instrument. "Ah, my dear, this is a very special telescope," he said, gently cleaning the lens.

He showed Samira how to carefully turn the knobs, how to focus the lens, and how to find the brightest stars in the darkening sky.

That night, in her backyard, with Grandpa Leo by her side, Samira looked through the telescope again. This time, it was different.

A tiny silver dot grew bigger and bigger, until it was a magnificent, cratered moon, shining brightly in the velvet blackness.

"Wow!" Samira gasped, her voice full of wonder. "It's so much bigger than I thought! And look, Grandpa, I see mountains!"
