The Giant Crab's Secret

Sonic the Hedgehog zipped onto the sunny Emerald Coast. The salty air tickled his nose, and the ocean sparkled. "What a perfect day for an adventure!" he cheered, ready for fun.

His super-fast feet loved the feel of soft sand beneath them. Zoom! He raced the waves, laughing as they chased his heels. No one could catch Sonic!

Suddenly, a brilliant shimmer caught his eye near a rocky tide pool. "Ooh, what's that?" he wondered, his curiosity piqued. It looked like a sparkling treasure!

Sonic carefully tiptoed closer, his quills twitching with excitement. He stretched out a hand to touch the gleaming object. It twinkled like a tiny star!

WHOOSH! A huge, red-orange claw burst from the water, splashing Sonic! He leaped back, his heart doing a speedy drumroll. What in the world was that?

Then, a giant crab, bigger than any Sonic had ever seen, slowly rose. His enormous eyes blinked. Crabby’s shell was like a sunset, grand and imposing.

"Whoa! A giant crab attack!" Sonic yelped, his super speed kicking in. He zoomed across the sand, leaving a cloud of dust. He had to get away!

But the giant crab didn't give up. CLUMP, CLUMP, CLUMP! He slowly followed, his big claws making deep prints in the sand. Why was he chasing Sonic?

Sonic hid behind a tall palm tree, his breath coming in quick gasps. He peeked around the trunk. The giant crab wasn't running; he was just... lumbering.

Wait a minute! Crabby wasn't looking at Sonic at all. His big eyes were fixed on the tide pool, right where that sparkling thing lay. Was he trying to get it?

Sonic slowed his racing heart. This wasn't an attack! Crabby looked more worried than angry. Maybe he wasn't a scary monster after all.

Crabby stretched his huge claw, trying to reach the sparkling object. But it was wedged deep between some rocks, just out of his grasp. He let out a sad click.

A wave of understanding washed over Sonic. Crabby needed help! He zoomed out from behind the tree. "Hey, big guy!" Sonic called softly.
