Meet Solara! Her hair was spun gold, and she always glowed with sunshine. Her dresses were yellow and orange, like a cheerful daisy. Solara lived in the Kingdom of Day, where everything sparkled.

Solara was a bit clumsy. When she laughed, tiny sparks sometimes flew from her nose! Her father, King Radiant, had a magnificent golden beard and often wore his crown backward. He was very proud of his sunny daughter.

Solara loved her bright home, but sometimes, a quiet feeling tickled her heart. Like a missing puzzle piece, she felt a tiny bit incomplete. Her eighteenth birthday was coming soon, and it felt extra special.

Far away, in the gloomy Kingdom of Night, lived Luna. Her hair was like midnight blue velvet, and her eyes sparkled like distant stars. Luna was a maid, always busy, often a little smudged with dust.

Queen Nocturna ruled the Night Kingdom. She was Luna’s aunt, tall and dramatic, with hair like a storm cloud. She wore jagged black and purple gowns. "Shadow!" she'd shriek to her raven. "Fetch me a gloomier cushion!"

Luna was quiet and clever. She could make dust bunnies dance with a wiggle of her finger! But like Solara, Luna felt a strange, quiet longing. Her eighteenth birthday was also approaching, feeling very important.

King Radiant, in a burst of enthusiasm, announced a grand 18th birthday party for Solara! He sent royal invitations to every kingdom, even the very darkest ones. "More cake for everyone!" he boomed.

Queen Nocturna, grumbling, ordered Luna to deliver the invitations. But Luna, distracted by a particularly bouncy dust bunny, accidentally slipped one for herself into her apron pocket. Oopsie!

Luna, following the address on the mysterious invitation, arrived at the shimmering Day Castle. She blinked at the brightness. Then, she saw her. Standing by a talking sunflower, was a girl who looked exactly like her!

Solara gasped! It was like looking in a mirror, but this mirror wore blue. "Hello!" Solara bubbled, and accidentally set a nearby napkin on fire. Luna, startled, yawned, and the grand chandelier flickered dim.

King Radiant saw Luna and nearly dropped his backward crown. "Goodness gracious!" he stammered. "Another Solara? Oh, yes! The very dark night! The baby mix-up! It all comes back to me now, mostly!"

Solara and Luna stared at each other. They were twin sisters! Solara hugged Luna tightly, nearly squeezing the breath out of her. Luna, a bit overwhelmed, gave a small, happy smile. They were finally together!

Back in the Night Kingdom, Queen Nocturna heard the news. "My maid! My best dust-bunny chaser!" she shrieked, her eyes glowing faintly red. "She ran off with the sun-drenched simpletons!"

"This means war!" Nocturna declared dramatically. "I shall cover the sun with a giant, lumpy, purple blanket! Then everything will be as gloriously gloomy as I am!" Shadow the raven squawked in agreement.

Nocturna gathered her "army": two grumpy bats, a perpetually lost goblin named Gribble, and Shadow. They were tasked with finding the biggest, lumpy, purple blanket in the entire Night Kingdom.

News of Queen Nocturna's plan reached the Day Kingdom. King Radiant panicked, trying to hide under his own beard. Solara looked worried. "No more sunshine? What about my toast?" she fretted.

Luna, however, was calm. "A giant blanket?" she mused. "That sounds like a job for... a giant slingshot, some glitter, and a whole lot of tickling powder!" Solara's pet squirrel, Sparky, chittered excitedly.
