📖 Read the Story

The Sunny family, full of giggles and wiggles, was off to their favorite place: the park! Mom Arlene, Dad Josel, Precious, Jewel, and Grandma Aida were ready for a super-duper adventure.

Arlene, Mom of the bunch, loved plans. "First, the picnic blanket! Then, the sandwiches! And *then*, the super-duper slide!" she declared, adjusting her perfectly tied polka-dot scarf.

Dad Josel, however, preferred spontaneous fun. "Who needs a plan when you have a giant banana shirt and a picnic basket full of surprises?" he boomed, already juggling apples and making funny noises.

Precious, the elder sister, carefully noted everything in her tiny notebook. "Chapter One: The Great Park Adventure," she whispered, watching Jewel hug her favorite sparkly unicorn, Glitterhoof.

Little Jewel, a whirlwind of glitter and giggles, bounced on her toes. "Glitterhoof wants to go on the Silly Snake Slide first!" she squealed, already halfway there, pulling Precious along.

Grandma Aida, with her twinkling eyes, always had a secret. "Perhaps Glitterhoof needs a snack before sliding?" she mumbled, a mischievous grin playing on her lips. Jewel giggled.

The picnic blanket was spread, but the fun couldn't wait! Jewel zoomed towards the Silly Snake Slide, leaving Glitterhoof perched carefully on a corner of the checkered blanket.

Down, down, down she went, a blur of pink and sparkle! Jewel loved the wind in her hair, forgetting everything but the thrilling twists and turns of the bright snake slide.

"Glitterhoof!" Jewel cried, rushing back. Her sparkly unicorn was gone! The picnic blanket looked awfully empty without her best friend. A tiny tear welled up in her eye.

"Don't fret, sweetie!" Arlene declared, rummaging through her enormous bag. "We'll find Glitterhoof! Perhaps it's hiding with my emergency rubber duck?"

Precious, ever the detective, approached a squirrel. "Excuse me, Mr. Squirrel, have you seen a sparkly unicorn?" Josel, disguised as a bush, made rustling noises and tried not to giggle.

Jewel, meanwhile, asked the wobbly ducks. "Did you see Glitterhoof? She's very sparkly and loves pond water!" The ducks just quacked, perhaps offering secret ducky clues.

Grandma Aida pointed to the big oak tree. "I heard a tiny sparkle-squeak from up there!" she announced, holding up a bright blue feather. "Perhaps Glitterhoof is a secret tree-climber!"

Josel, ever helpful, tried to climb the oak tree. "Don't worry, Glitterhoof, Dad's coming!" he puffed, getting his banana shirt snagged. Arlene found a broom to help him up.
