Squiggle-Snout and the Butterfly Dreams

Deep in Whisperwind Woods lived Squiggle-Snout, a monster of mossy green fur and wobbly tentacles. He loved butterflies!

But Squiggle-Snout had a secret job: collecting bad dreams! He’d sneak out when everyone slept soundly.

*WHOOSH!* His giant net swooped up a grumpy, shadowy cloud. "Gotcha, you gloomy grumble!" he chirped happily.

One sunny morning, Lily and Sam explored the woods. "Did you hear that *whoosh* last night?" asked Sam, adjusting his glasses.

Suddenly, they saw Squiggle-Snout! He was busy scooping up more invisible things with his enormous net.

"He's stealing the air!" gasped Sam. "Or maybe... our giggles?" Lily whispered, bravely stepping closer.

Squiggle-Snout noticed them. He wiggled his squiggly snout happily, offering a captured "grumpy cloud."

"Eek! He's trying to give us a bad mood!" cried Sam, hiding completely behind Lily. "Run, Lily, run!"

"Hmph! Youngsters and their hasty conclusions!" grumbled Professor Piffle-Puff, peering from his mushroom.

He watched Squiggle-Snout dash into his giant oak tree, net full. "Such peculiar habits," he muttered.

Lily, though scared, was too curious to leave. "What's in that tree, Sam?" she asked, pulling him along.

They peeked inside. Squiggle-Snout was carefully pouring the shadowy clouds into a sparkly, whirring machine.

*WHOOSH-WHIZZ-POP!* The machine glowed with all the colors of the rainbow. The shadowy clouds swirled faster!
