Every day, she explored the colorful coral reef, studying its amazing, secret creatures.
Her team of helpers joined her, especially Finn, a boy who loved all ocean animals.
They splashed into the warm, blue water, ready for a day of discovery and adventure.
The coral reef was a busy, bustling city, full of shimmering fish and swaying plants.
But today, Dr. Iris saw something that made her heart feel a little sad.
Tucked into a coral branch was a seahorse, dull and gray, not bright yellow.
"That's Sammy," she thought. "He should be sunny yellow, sparkling with life!"
Finn, swimming nearby, noticed the seahorse too. "Oh, Dr. Iris, he looks poorly!"
Dr. Iris looked closer. The water around Sammy was cloudy, with bits of trash floating.
"The reef is sick too," she murmured. "Pollution is making our ocean friends unwell."
"We must help Sammy and his home!" Dr. Iris declared, her eyes now determined.
The team began to carefully collect the rubbish, piece by tiny piece.
Finn used his small mesh bag, carefully gathering plastic and wrappers.
