This is Rosie, a speedy rabbit. Zoom! Whiz! She loved to race everywhere, all the time.
Rosie was always in a hurry. She’d dash past flowers, over pebbles, and through tall grass.
But being so fast meant Rosie often missed the small, wonderful things all around her.
Grandma Thistle watched Rosie zoom. “My dear Rosie,” she murmured, “always rushing.”
One sunny morning, Grandma Thistle had an idea. “Rosie, let’s play a new game!”
“It’s called… the Slowpoke Safari!” Grandma announced with a soft chuckle.
Rosie blinked her bright blue eyes. “Slowpoke? But Grandma, I’m a speedy rabbit!”
“Exactly!” said Grandma. “We’ll be explorers, but move super, super slowly. Like snails!”
Rosie tried. She took one tiny step, then another. It felt… strange. And very slow.
“Look, Rosie,” Grandma whispered, pointing. “A jewel beetle! See its shimmering shell?”
Rosie leaned closer. Then, she gasped! “Grandma! A ladybug! With seven little spots!”
She watched the ladybug crawl slowly, slowly, from one leaf to the next. It was fascinating!
Next, Rosie found a perfectly smooth, sparkly pebble. “It looks like a tiny moon rock!”
“And look!” she whispered, pointing. “A sky-blue flower, hiding under the grass!”
