Rory and the Giggle-Glow

Meet Rory! He was a very important caterpillar who lived in a very magical garden. His purple spots always shimmered with joy.

But one morning, Rory woke up and gasped! The magic was GONE! No sparkle, no hum, just… *ordinary*. Oh dear!

"This will not do!" Rory declared, adjusting his spectacles. "The garden needs its sparkle! I, Rory, shall find the missing magic!"

Rory set off with a wiggle and a jiggle. *Thump!* He bumped right into Grumbles the Gnome. "Hmph! My cabbages are so dull!" Grumbles grumbled.

Rory explained his quest to Grumbles, who has his arms crossed, looking skeptical. Grumbles's watering can is leaning against a sad-looking giant carrot.

Rory wiggled his six orange boots. "To find magic, one must seek wisdom!" he decided. "Professor Hoot will know!"

Rory arrived at Professor Hoot's Library Tree. Professor Hoot was napping, a tiny scroll clutched in his feathery claw. *Zzzzz.*

"Professor Hoot!" Rory whispered. The owl blinked. "Aha! A rare, six-booted beetle! Fascinating!" he hooted, still half-asleep.

Rory patiently explained the problem. Professor Hoot holds a giant, dusty scroll upside down, squinting at it through his crooked glasses.

"Aha!" hooted Professor Hoot. "The 'Giggle-Glow' has gone! It hides in the 'Whispering Woods'! Go, little beetle!"

"The Giggle-Glow!" Rory repeated, trying to sound brave. He thanked Professor Hoot, who was already snoring. Rory set off for the Whispering Woods.

In the woods, Rory found Sparklewing the Firefly. She was zipping and zapping, trying to tell a riddle. "What has wings but can't fly? A… a… a pie!"

"That makes no sense!" Rory giggled. "Sparklewing, do you know where the 'Giggle-Glow' is?"
