A young, art-loving girl named Rina is magically transported to a gallery where painted figures subtly breathe and express sadness; she must discover and restore their missing personal items to bring them joy and complete their stories.

📖 Read the Story

Rina loved painting more than anything. Her small studio, filled with brushes and colorful tubes, was her favorite place. She especially loved painting faces, trying to capture the sparkle in an eye or the hint of a smile.

One afternoon, Rina was painting a portrait of an old, wise-looking owl. She tried to show its deep wisdom, but something felt missing. The owl’s painted eyes seemed to hold a tiny, unreadable sadness.

As Rina added a final touch of shimmering gold to the owl’s feathers, the canvas began to glow. The colors swirled, pulling her closer. A soft, warm breeze tickled her nose, smelling faintly of paint and old paper.

Suddenly, Rina tumbled forward, landing gently on a soft, velvety floor. She blinked, looking around. She was no longer in her studio! Tall, quiet walls surrounded her, lined with countless paintings.

This was no ordinary art gallery. The painted figures on the canvases subtly breathed. Their eyes followed her, filled with a quiet, lingering sadness. Rina realized she was in the Land of Living Canvases.

The colors here were muted, like a rainy day. Each portrait, from a grand lady to a playful puppy, seemed to sigh. Rina felt a pang in her heart. Why were they all so unhappy?

She stopped before a portrait of an elderly woman, Elara. Elara’s silver hair was neat, her face kind, but her painted eyes looked lost. “What’s wrong?” Rina whispered, her voice barely a breath.

Elara’s painted lips didn't move, but Rina felt a gentle thought: *I miss the warmth of creation, the comfort of my hands at work.* Rina looked closely. Elara’s lap was empty.

Rina remembered her grandmother’s knitting. She imagined soft yarn and clicking needles. "You need your knitting!" Rina declared. She closed her eyes, wishing for them. When she opened them, a pair of wooden needles and a red scarf lay in Elara's lap. A soft smile bloomed on Elara's face, and her colors brightened.

Next, Rina found a watercolor portrait of a young boy, Leo. His sandy hair was tousled, his blue eyes wide, but they held a wistful longing. He looked like he was waiting for something.

Rina felt Leo’s quiet wish: *I long for adventure, for journeys to faraway lands.* She looked at his empty hand. What could bring adventure to a small boy?

"A train!" Rina exclaimed. She pictured a tiny wooden train, ready to chug along. With another wish, a miniature, red-chimneyed train appeared in Leo’s hand. His eyes sparkled with joy, and his painting glowed with vibrant blues and yellows.

Further down the hall, Rina saw Captain Finn, a rugged adventurer. His painted face was brave, his eyes keen, but they gazed into an empty distance, as if searching for a forgotten story.

Captain Finn’s silent thought echoed: *My tales are untold, my memories unshared.* Rina noticed his jacket pocket was flat. An adventurer always had a way to record his journeys.
