Deep in Whispering Woods lived Professor Hootington, an owl with a grand dream. He wore spectacles, a tweed cap, and an apron patched with stars.

"Hoo-hoo! The stars call to me!" he'd hoot, polishing a shiny, round helmet. He wasn't just observing the night sky; he wanted to visit it!

His assistant, Squeaky the squirrel, chattered excitedly. Squeaky, with bright red fur and an acorn-shell helmet, was always ready for an adventure, especially if snacks were involved.

Their latest invention was almost ready: The "Star-Snuggler 5000" rocket! It was made from recycled teapots, old watering cans, and a very bouncy spring.

"Squeaky, please don't use that pickle for the navigation system!" Professor Hootington exclaimed, gently taking it away. "And the engine needs more sparkle-juice, not acorns!"

Squeaky giggled, then accidentally pulled a lever. WHIRRRR! The rocket's door clamped shut, with Professor Hootington still outside and Squeaky inside!

"Oh, dear! Don't worry, Squeaky, I'll just... climb in!" Hootington carefully scaled the wobbly rocket, his cape (a tea towel) fluttering. The forest friends watched, holding their breath.

With a final HOOT and a SQUEAK, they were ready! "Ten... nine... eight..." counted the badger. "Seven... six... five..." squeaked the rabbit. "Four... three... two... one... BLAST OFF!"

KABOOM! Not a loud boom, but a puff of rainbow smoke and a shower of nuts! The Star-Snuggler 5000 wobbled, then slowly, majestically, lifted into the sky.

"Hoo-hoo-hooray! We're flying!" cried Professor Hootington, his eyes wide. Below, their forest home looked like a tiny, green moss-ball.

Squeaky, feeling better, opened his picnic basket. "Look, Professor! Space-snacks!" He pulled out a giant cheese wheel and a thermos of "Moon-berry Nectar."

They zoomed past planets that looked like giant striped marbles and swirly lollipops. "Is that a space-doughnut?" Squeaky wondered, trying to catch a floating asteroid.

Professor Hootington gasped. "Look, Squeaky! A nebula! It's like a giant, fluffy, cosmic cloud!" He tried to scoop some stardust into his jar.

Suddenly, a wobbly, green creature floated by. It had three eyes and offered them a sparkly, gooey space-cookie. "Hoo-hoo! How delightful!" Professor Hootington accepted politely.
