When a devastating storm threatens to ruin her village's market day by fading their beautifully woven fabrics, a quiet and imaginative girl named Priya uses her unique artistic vision to inspire a creative solution, transforming disaster into a triumph of new, vibrant designs.

📖 Read the Story

Meet Priya! She lived in Rangpur, a village sparkling with colors. Everywhere, beautiful fabrics were woven, telling stories in threads.

Priya loved to draw more than anything. Her sketchbook was her best friend, filled with swirling patterns, dancing leaves, and sleepy river fish.

The villagers were busy. The Big Market Day was coming soon! They carefully dyed threads and wove their finest blankets, scarves, and tapestries.

Each fabric was a masterpiece, bursting with bright reds, sunny yellows, and calming blues. Everyone hoped their designs would be the most admired.

But one afternoon, dark clouds gathered quickly. The sky rumbled, and rain began to fall, not gently, but in big, splashing sheets.

The storm raged all night. The river swelled, and water poured through the streets. When morning came, the village was quiet, and everyone crept outside.

Oh no! The beautiful fabrics, left outside to dry, were soaked and faded. The vibrant colors had run, leaving dull, muddy streaks.

What will we do?" cried a weaver, holding up a faded scarf. "The market is tomorrow! Our beautiful work is ruined!"

Priya felt a pang of sadness. But then, her eyes fell on her own sketchbook, tucked safely in her bag. It was still full of bright ideas.

She opened it, flipping through pages of patterns she'd imagined. What if the fabrics didn't need the *old* colors? What if they could have *new* ones?

Priya began to sketch furiously. Swirls like river currents, dots like raindrops, and leaves like those after the storm, all dancing together.

Carefully, she walked towards Auntie Meena, her heart thumping. "Auntie," she whispered, holding out her sketchbook. "Maybe... maybe we can try these?"

Auntie Meena looked at the drawings. They were different, bolder, and full of life. "Hmm," she mused, a small smile playing on her lips. "These are very interesting, Priya."

"We don't have time to weave completely new fabrics," Auntie Meena said, "but we can use these patterns to *embroider* over the faded ones!"
