📖 Read the Story
Penelope was a tiny ladybug. Her shell was bright red, with seven shiny black spots.
She lived in a big, green garden. Most ladybugs munched on tasty aphids all day.
But Penelope dreamed of flying higher. Higher than any ladybug had ever flown!
She watched butterflies dance. She saw bees buzz past the tallest sunflower.
Penelope studied leaves and wind. How did wings work? She wanted to know!
She found soft petals and strong spider silk. Penelope began to design her own wings.
"I'm ready!" she chirped. Her heart fluttered with excitement.
Flap, flap, flap! Down she tumbled, landing softly on a daisy. *Poof!*
Barnaby buzzed, "Silly Penelope! Ladybugs don't need extra wings."
But Penelope remembered the bees. She studied her wings again, making them stronger.
