Patty the Penguin's Sun-Baked Cookies

Patty the penguin loved baking! Her famous fish-flake cookies were the best. The annual Ice Floe Bake Sale was tomorrow!

She imagined her friends enjoying every delicious bite. Patty couldn't wait to share her special treats with everyone.

With a cheerful hum, Patty loaded her oven. It was time to bake hundreds of cookies for the big day.

Suddenly, the oven groaned. It whirred, then clunked! Black smoke puffed out. Oh no! It was broken!

Patty’s heart sank like an anchor. How could she bake her cookies now? The bake sale was almost here!

Just then, her best friends arrived. "What's wrong, Patty?" asked Pip, seeing her sad face.

"My oven is broken!" Patty wailed. "No cookies for the bake sale! My famous fish-flake treats!"

Pip, ever practical, poked at the oven. "It's truly broken, Patty," he sighed. "A big fix."

Snowdrop, the clever fox, peered outside. "Wait!" she exclaimed. "What about the sun? And the snow?"

Patty tilted her head. "The sun and snow? To bake cookies?" Frosty looked confused too.

"We can make a solar oven!" Snowdrop explained. "The sun's warmth, trapped by snow and dark rocks!"

They gathered smooth, dark rocks and dug a shallow pit in the snow. Patty felt a spark of hope.

With Pip's clever hands, they propped a shiny ice sheet. It reflected the sun's rays right into their snow oven.
