The sun warmed the street. Every tiny pebble on the pavement looked so real!
Here was Orange, ready to play. Her bright orange dress was soft cotton.
*Thud! Thud!* The orange basketball echoed loudly. Orange dribbled it down the street.
She bounced into the Orange Pet Store. Her Nikes squeaked on the shiny floor.
Mr. Paws, the owner, looked very sad. "Oh dear, oh dear!" he sighed.
Orange stopped her ball. "What's wrong, Mr. Paws?" she asked, her voice soft.
Mr. Paws pointed to an empty, sparkling cage. "The Rainbow Finch is gone!" he whispered.
The Rainbow Finch was so special. Its feathers shimmered like a tiny rainbow.
Orange looked closely. A tiny, bright feather glinted near the cage.
*Zoom!* A flash of fur darted out! It was Tiger, soft and striped.
Tiger sniffed the feather. He let out a curious, high-pitched "Mew!"
Orange picked up her ball. "Maybe the Finch just flew somewhere quiet?"
She tossed the ball up. *Boing!* Tiger leaped, batting it with his paw!
The ball bounced near a tall, leafy plant in a large pot in the corner of the store. The plant has wide, green leaves.
