Olivia's Whispering Woods Secret

Olivia Owl loved her quiet, cozy tree home. She loved reading stories from her many books. Her spectacles helped her see every tiny word.

One sunny afternoon, Olivia looked out her window. She saw her friend, Simon Squirrel, looking very sad. Simon usually scampered, busy and bright.

"Oh, Olivia," sighed Simon, his voice quiet. "Winter is coming, but my nut pile is so small!" He worried he wouldn't have enough to eat.

Olivia blinked her big, intelligent eyes. She remembered an old story from her favorite book. A story about a secret, hidden place.

"Simon," she hooted softly, "my book tells of a grove!" "A special place, deep in the Whispering Woods." "It’s filled with the plumpest, tastiest nuts!"

Simon's bushy tail gave a hopeful twitch. "A secret grove?" he squeaked, excited now. "Let's go, Olivia! Show me the way!"

Olivia led them deeper into the woods. She checked her book, then looked for clues. A tall, crooked tree. A mossy, green stone.

"Are you sure, Olivia?" Simon asked, a little worried. "This path feels very long and twisty." Olivia nodded, "The best secrets are well hidden!"

Then, Olivia spotted it! A giant, twisted root. And beside it, a stone that softly sparkled. "This is it!" she whispered, her eyes bright.
