Milo and the Greatest Den Ever

Milo the bear cub loved to build. Lily the fox kit loved to pretend. They played together in the sunny park.

Today, their special toy was a bouncy, colorful ball. “It’s a sleepy dragon egg!” Lily whispered. Milo carefully held their precious egg.

Oh no! Here came the Giggly Snatcher! Milo's cousin loved to sneak and giggle. They needed a safe place for their egg.

“Let’s build the Greatest Den Ever!” Milo said. “To keep our sleepy dragon egg safe!” Lily cheered. Milo imagined a very strong fort.

They found sticks and dry leaves. Milo stacked them high. Lily added more. Wobble, wobble! Crash! The den fell down.

Next, they tried big, flat stones. Milo pushed. Lily pulled. But the den was too small for the egg.

Milo sighed. Lily pouted. Building was harder than it looked. Their egg still needed protection.

Uncle Bear watched them from his comfy chair. He smiled a warm, gentle smile. “Having fun, little builders?” he asked softly.

“Our dens keep falling down,” Milo mumbled. “Maybe we need a different plan,” Uncle Bear said. “Let’s try inside, with soft things.”
