📖 Read the Story
Mikmik was a tiny squirrel, no bigger than a teacup, but his heart was as vast as the forest. He loved to explore, his bright eyes always searching for new wonders.
One sunny morning, while searching for the juiciest acorns, Mikmik spotted something unusual. A shimmer, a sparkle, unlike any dewdrop or butterfly wing he had ever seen.
He scurried closer, his tiny paws barely making a sound. There, nestled softly on a bed of emerald moss, was a small, five-pointed star! It glowed with a gentle, warm light.
Mikmik had seen stars only in the night sky, high above the tallest trees. How could this one be here, on the forest floor? He knew it didn't belong. It looked lost.
He tried to nudge it, then push it, hoping it would float back up. But the little star just shimmered sadly, its light dimming slightly. It was too big for Mikmik to move alone.
Mikmik knew he couldn't leave it. This beautiful star needed to go home. He puffed out his chest. Even a tiny squirrel could do big things, but sometimes, big things needed friends.
He thought of Barnaby, the big, strong bear. Barnaby knew all about lifting heavy things, and he was always kind. Mikmik zipped through the trees, calling for his friend.
Barnaby the bear was enjoying a nap under a berry bush. His shaggy fur was warm in the sun. Mikmik explained, chattering excitedly about the lost star.
Barnaby lumbered over to the mossy spot. "Oh, my!" he rumbled, his voice deep and soft. "A sky-sparkle on the ground. It certainly needs to be up there with its family."
"But how?" Mikmik asked. Barnaby scratched his head. "We need someone who sees far and thinks clearly. Someone wise, like Pip the owl."
They found Pip perched high in an ancient pine, his golden eyes observing everything. Mikmik explained their discovery, and Pip listened with a thoughtful tilt of his head.
"Hmm, a fallen star," Pip hooted softly. "Stars belong in the sky, grouped together in families called constellations. Each star has its own special place."
"We must find its constellation," Pip declared. "But how to get it high enough? We need someone quick, who can scout the best path. Rosie the rabbit!"
Rosie arrived in a flurry of white fur and twitching ears. "A lost star? Oh, how exciting!" she squeaked. "I'll find the tallest tree, the one that tickles the clouds!"
