Mei woke up early. A super-secret idea popped into her head! Today was a very special day.
She wanted to make a yummy surprise. Breakfast in bed for Mom and Dad! Shhh!
First, pancakes! But the big bag of flour was way up high. Too high for little Mei.
She stretched and stretched. She even jumped a tiny bit. Nope, still too far to reach.
Mei thought and thought. Who could help her reach that big, fluffy bag of flour?
Her big brother, Leo! He was still sleeping soundly. "Psst, Leo!" she whispered softly.
Leo slowly opened his sleepy eyes. Mei told him her secret plan. "Pancakes!" she whispered.
Leo tried to reach. Even on the stool, it was just a little too high. Almost, but not quite!
Mei looked around. Her eyes sparkled with a new idea. "Books!" she exclaimed softly. "Strong, sturdy books!"
Together, they stacked three big, sturdy books. One, two, three! A perfect little tower.
