Hooray! shouted Hugo. The Miller family arrived at their holiday caravan. Marlowe, with her bright yellow sun hat, felt a tingle of excitement.

Their caravan was cosy and colourful! Bunk beds for the children, a tiny kitchen, and a comfy nook. 'This will be fun!' giggled Penny.

The next morning, the sun shone brightly. 'Time for the beach!' called Dad. Everyone grabbed their buckets and spades.

The beach was enormous! Golden sand stretched far and wide. Marlowe loved the salty smell and the sound of the waves.

Hugo and Penny started building a giant sandcastle. Robyn dug a wide moat around it. 'We need more water!' she directed.

Marlowe tried to help, but her small spade kept dropping sand. The big castle seemed too tricky for her little hands.

She wandered off, looking closely at the wet sand. What tiny treasures might be hiding here? Her blue eyes scanned carefully.

'Look!' Marlowe called, holding up a beautiful, swirly, pearly-white shell. It was smooth and shiny, like a tiny marble staircase.

Robyn came over. 'Wow, Marlowe! That's a Whelk shell,' she explained. 'A sea snail made this amazing home.'

Hugo found something too! 'A crab!' he shouted, pointing to a rock pool. A tiny brown crab scuttled sideways.

'Crabs have a hard outer shell called a 'carapace',' Dad explained. 'It protects them from the waves and other creatures.'

Penny quickly sketched the Whelk shell and the scuttling crab in her book. Marlowe felt so proud of her special find.

Marlowe carefully carried her Whelk shell home. The beach was full of wonderful, tiny discoveries if you looked closely!

The next day, it was time for the sparkling swimming pool! Hugo and Penny raced to the water, eager to splash.
