Luca, a tiny ladybug, sat quietly on a wide, dewy green leaf. The morning sun warmed her shiny red shell.

She had seven perfectly round, jet-black spots. Just seven simple, plain spots.

"Oh, my spots are so ordinary," she sighed softly. "So very, very plain."

Other garden creatures had dazzling stripes or wings that shimmered like rainbows.

Luca decided. She would fly far away, looking for something new and exciting.

She fluttered past tall, cheerful sunflowers and busy, buzzing bees, her little wings working hard.

Soon, she reached a sparkling, calm pond. The water was so clear and peaceful.

There, sitting grandly on a wide lily pad, was the most magnificent frog she had ever seen.

His skin swirled with iridescent blues and purples! It was covered in amazing, shimmering patterns.

"Wow!" whispered Luca, her own spots forgotten. Her eyes were wide with wonder.

"Hello, little one," croaked Fernando, with a warm, rumbling smile. "Why the long face?"

Luca shyly told him about her plain, black spots. "They're just so... ordinary," she mumbled.

Fernando chuckled gently. "Ordinary? My dear, your spots are anything but plain! They are perfect."

Suddenly, a large, dark shadow passed swiftly overhead! A hungry bird was flying by.
