Tonight was Halloween! Lily, a fairy with shimmering wings, peeked out her window. The street below twinkled with pumpkin smiles and friendly ghost decorations. Her heart fluttered with excitement for all the adventures waiting outside.
Lily imagined her treat bag growing heavier with every house. Chocolates, lollipops, chewy caramels! But more than just treats, she looked forward to giggling with her best friend, Leo, under the big, friendly moon.
"Ahoy, matey!" Leo, a brave pirate, called as he met Lily. Together, they skipped down the path, their costumes rustling softly. The air smelled of crisp autumn leaves and a hint of something sweet, promising fun.
Their first stop was a house bursting with pumpkins. A friendly scarecrow smiled, offering a yummy treat. "Trick or treat!" Lily chirped, her voice a little shy but full of joy.
Into her sparkly pumpkin bag went the first candy bar! Lily felt a happy flutter in her tummy. This was going to be the best Halloween ever, full of sweet surprises and happy moments.
Next, they approached "Mystery Manor." It looked a little older than the other houses, with shadowy vines creeping up its walls. But warm lights glowed from inside, making it feel more mysterious than truly spooky.
As they reached the porch, a strange, wobbly sound drifted from behind the door. *Whooo-oo-ooh...* It wasn't scary, but it made Lily and Leo exchange curious glances, wondering what awaited them.
Suddenly, the door creaked open, and a small, wobbly ghost floated out! He had big, friendly eyes and a tiny, crooked party hat. He looked rather surprised, as if he hadn't meant to appear just yet.
The wobbly ghost, Pip, floated a little too close to a carved pumpkin. *Bump!* The pumpkin wobbled, then rolled right off the porch! Pip looked down at it, his big eyes wide with dismay.
Lily and Leo burst into giggles. "A trick!" Leo whispered, delighted. They thought the wobbly ghost had planned it, a funny, gentle prank for Halloween night. It was a silly, unexpected treat.
But Pip didn't look tricky at all. His translucent face drooped, and his party hat slipped further down. He hadn't meant to make the pumpkin roll; he was just a little bit clumsy, and now he felt sad.
Lily stopped giggling. She looked at Pip's sad, wobbly face. He wasn't playing a trick; he was just a little bit clumsy. A warm feeling of sympathy bloomed in Lily's chest. He looked so lonely.
Without a word, Lily walked over to the rolling pumpkin. She carefully picked it up, cradling its round, orange shape in her arms. Pip watched her, his big eyes full of hope.
Lily placed the pumpkin back on the porch, giving Pip a soft, kind smile. "There you go," she whispered. Pip's wobbly body seemed to straighten a little, and his eyes glowed with silent thanks.
