Lily loved her warrior cat books. She read about brave clans and wild adventures every day.
She imagined herself as a fierce warrior, with silent paws and sharp, watchful eyes.
Oh, how she wished she could meet a real wild cat, just like Firestar or Graystripe!
Her own fluffy cat, Mittens, was very sweet. But Mittens mostly loved naps and tummy rubs.
One sunny afternoon, Lily visited Grandpa Joe. His garden was wonderfully wild and green.
Grandpa," she said, "I wish I knew how to find real warrior cats!"
Grandpa smiled. "Well, warriors are very good at observing nature. We can try that!"
Wild animals are shy, Lily. You need to be very quiet and still to see them."
Let's build a special hideout," he suggested, "a place where we can watch without being seen."
They gathered fallen branches, big leaves, and soft moss. They worked like busy beavers!
Soon, they had a cozy, camouflaged spot, hidden deep within the bushes.
They sat inside, very still. Grandpa pointed. "Look, a robin!" A flash of red.
Lily learned to be patient. She watched buzzing bees and tiny ants marching by.
Then, a shadow moved! A sleek, dark cat appeared at the edge of the tall grass.
