Lily and Nutsy played happily. Their cozy treehouse home felt warm. Lily hugged Pip, her favorite acorn doll.
"Let's play hide-and-seek!" Nutsy chirped. Lily put Pip down carefully. She counted, "One, two, three..."
Lily looked all around. Pip was gone! Her little nose twitched sadly.
"Oh dear," Papa Squirrel said softly. Lily showed him the empty spot. Her bushy tail drooped low.
"Let's go on a safari!" Papa smiled. "A Great Backyard Safari!" Lily's eyes widened with wonder.
"First, the Whispering Bush Jungle!" They peeked into the big bush. A tiny, shiny berry lay there.
"Pip loves shiny things," Lily whispered. They followed the berry's trail. Deeper into the green leaves they went.
Next, the Rocky Mountain Peak! They climbed the big mossy rock. A small, orange petal fluttered.
"That's from Pip's flowerbed!" Nutsy cried. He pointed with his paw. Lily scampered down quickly.
Across the Wobbly Log Bridge! They spotted a tiny twig. It looked just like Pip's arm!
