Long-Neck Lil was a tiny giraffe in the vast, sunny savanna. Her coat was soft yellow, her patches small.

She watched her big brother, Stretch, reach high for the juiciest acacia leaves. "Oh, to be tall!" she sighed.

Stretch had a coat of rich, golden patches and strong, long legs. He always seemed to know what grown-up giraffes did.

Lil felt too small for anything important. Her little ossicones barely peeked out. She wished for big, confident strides.

One sunny morning, Stretch saw Lil sighing. "Little sister," he said, "let's play 'Big Giraffe Steps'!"

Lil tilted her head. "Big Giraffe Steps?" she mumbled. Stretch nodded, his long neck swaying gently.

"First step," Stretch announced, "reach for that leaf, just a little higher than usual!" He pointed to a low branch.

Lil stretched her neck, wobbling a bit. The leaf seemed so far! She took a deep, shaky breath.

*Snip!* She got it! A tiny, tender leaf. Lil’s eyes widened. "I did it!" she chirped, feeling a spark of joy.

"Wonderful, Lil!" Stretch cheered, his voice jubilant. "That's a perfect Big Giraffe Step!"

Next, Stretch encouraged, "Let's take some long, graceful strides across the savanna, like Mama and Papa!"

Lil tried. Her legs felt clumsy, her steps too short. "It's too hard!" she whined, stopping.

"Just try one more, a little longer," Stretch coaxed. "Imagine you're floating on air!"

Lil focused. One leg, then the other. *Swoosh!* A slightly longer stride! Then another! She felt a rhythm.
