📖 Read the Story
Lila was a playful lion cub with a mane like a fiery sunset. She loved her warm savanna home, full of rustling grass.
But far away, a tall, rocky mountain touched the sky. It looked so grand, sparkling in the morning light.
Every day, Lila gazed at its peak. She felt a special pull, a whisper in her heart: "I want to climb you!"
One sunny morning, Lila decided. Today was the day! She tiptoed past her napping family, her heart thumping with excitement.
Off she went, her paws padding softly through the tall, golden grass. The mountain seemed a little closer now.
Soon, a wide, rushing river blocked her path. Its clear water tumbled quickly over smooth, round stones.
Lila dipped a curious paw into the cool water. Whoosh! The river was much too strong! She pulled her paw back quickly.
How would she ever cross? The mountain seemed so far away again. Lila sighed, feeling a tiny bit discouraged.
Just then, a friendly monkey with bright, quick eyes swung down. "Hello!" chirped Milo, landing softly beside her.
Milo saw her problem. "Don't worry!" he chattered, pointing to some smooth, flat stones. "We can hop across!"
Milo showed Lila where to step. Carefully, paw by paw, Lila balanced across the wobbly stones. She felt so brave!
On the other side, the path grew steep and rocky. Jagged stones piled high, making it tricky to climb.
Lila tried to find good paw holds, but her paws sometimes slipped. Her legs were beginning to feel very tired.
Milo bounced ahead, showing her the best way. He knew every secret path, every sturdy vine. "Just a little further!"
