📖 Read the Story

Little Leo, a fluffy golden cub, peeked over Mama Lioness’s shoulder. "Black Friday?" he whispered, his bright eyes wide. "What's that, Mama?"

Mama smiled, her soft mane brushing his ear. "It's a special day, my dear. Shops have wonderful treasures at amazing prices! Just like the Sparkle-Bot 5000 you've wished for."

Leo’s heart did a happy flip. A Sparkle-Bot! They were usually too grand, too expensive. "Could I really find one?" he wondered, picturing its shiny gears and blinking lights.

Mama helped him pack a tiny coin purse and a crumpled list. "Remember your manners, and keep your eyes open," she purred. Leo zipped up his too-big blue overalls, ready for adventure.

Whiskerville Street buzzed! Snowflakes danced like tiny fairies. Shop windows glittered with festive lights, and cheerful animal shoppers hurried past, paws full of colourful packages.

Leo clutched his list. So many shops! He spotted "Hugs & Hoots Toy Store," its windows piled high with colourful games and cuddly friends. This must be the place to start!

Inside, Mrs. Higgins the Hippo, wearing a floral apron and spectacles, greeted him with a warm smile. "Looking for something special, little one?" she rumbled kindly.

"A Sparkle-Bot 5000, please!" Leo chirped, holding up his list. Mrs. Higgins sighed gently. "Oh, those are very popular, dear. We sold our last one this morning."

Leo’s shoulders slumped. He thanked Mrs. Higgins and ventured on. Maybe the Sparkle-Bot was more of a "gadget"? He peered into "Gizmo Grove."

Mr. Slinky the Snake, long and green with a tiny bow tie, showed Leo amazing whirring contraptions. But no Sparkle-Bot. "Sorry, cub," he hissed softly. "Never stocked those."

Leo sat on a snowy bench, a sigh escaping his chest. His paws felt cold, and his list seemed heavier. He watched other shoppers, some laughing, some rushing past.

Suddenly, a tiny squirrel, Pip, scurried by, dropping a whole basket of acorns! They scattered across the icy path, rolling under benches and into snowdrifts.

Pip looked ready to cry. Even though Leo felt disappointed, he couldn't just sit there. He hopped off the bench. "Don't worry, Pip!" he called, "I'll help you!"

Together, they carefully gathered every last acorn. Leo used his little paws to scoop them from the snow, Pip chattering thanks with every find.
