Kai loved his island home. He wore a fresh flower lei every day. The ocean was his best friend, a sparkling blue playground.

One night, a big storm roared! Wind howled, rain poured down. Kai worried about his ocean friend, tossing and turning in his bed.

The next morning, Kai ran to the beach. Oh no! His favorite sandy shore was covered in so much trash.

Bottles, bags, old nets… so much pollution! Kai’s heart felt heavy. 'I must help,' he whispered, a determined glint in his eyes.

He hurried to find Lani and Koa. 'Our beach needs us!' he told them, his voice urgent. 'The storm left a big mess.'

Lani gasped, 'Oh, no!' Koa frowned. 'This is terrible for the fish and turtles,' Kai explained gently, his voice soft.

'Little fish might eat the plastic, thinking it's food,' Kai said sadly. 'Turtles get tangled in old nets. It hurts marine life.'

'Let's clean it up!' Lani declared, grabbing a bag. Koa found some gloves. Kai smiled, grateful for his friends.

They worked hard, sorting plastics, glass, and bits of rope. The piles grew quickly, making a big difference already.

'Look at this colorful bottle!' Lani exclaimed. 'And this shiny piece of metal!' Kai’s eyes twinkled.

Kai had an idea! 'We can turn this trash into treasure! Let's make beautiful ocean art!'

'This is called recycling,' Kai explained. 'It helps keep our planet healthy, so we can all enjoy it. It's sustainability!'

They gathered the cleanest pieces. A broken flip-flop became a fish tail. A bottle cap, an eye. Their imaginations soared!

Koa carefully glued shimmering shells onto a plastic bottle, making a beautiful, sparkling sea creature. His hands were very steady.
