Isabelle loved painting more than anything. Her favorite colors were sunshine yellow, ocean blue, and the deep green of forest leaves.

But Isabelle had a special secret about her eyes. One was blue like the summer sky, and the other was brown like a cozy teddy bear.

One sunny morning, in the bright art room, Ms. Lily clapped her hands. 'Good morning, artists! Today, we have a very special project!'

'A portrait is a picture of a person,' she explained with a smile. 'And today, you will paint a portrait ofโ€ฆ yourselves!'

Isabelle's heart fluttered with excitement! She imagined all the bright colors. Then, a little worry fluttered in her tummy too.

'How can I paint my eyes?' she whispered to herself. 'One is blue, one is brown. Will it look strange on my painting?'

She peered into a small mirror. Her different eyes stared back. Would anyone understand them? Would her painting look odd?

Ms. Lily, always observant, noticed Isabelle's quiet frown. She knelt beside her. 'What wonderful colors are you choosing for your eyes, dear?'

Isabelle mumbled, 'My eyes... they're not the same. It feels tricky to paint them. I don't know what to do.'

Ms. Lily smiled softly. 'Tricky? Or wonderfully unique? That's what makes *you* Isabelle! Your eyes are like a beautiful secret.'

Isabelle began to paint her face, her warm brown hair, her small nose. But she left the eyes blank, two empty spaces on her canvas.

Leo, with his bright red hair, peeked over. 'Wow, Isabelle! Your painting is so neat! Who is it?'

Maya, with her thoughtful braids, added, 'It's you! But... where are your beautiful eyes, Isabelle?'

Isabelle sighed. 'I don't know how to paint them. They're different. One is blue, and one is brown. It feels... strange.'
