📖 Read the Story

Meet Rumi! With her super-long purple braid and glowing sword, she’s the leader of Huntrix, the coolest K-pop demon-hunting band in Neo-Seoul! Tonight, the city felt… a little off.

Beside her, Mira twirled her ribbon staff, humming a new tune. Zoe, with her spiky blue hair, tapped her energy drumsticks, scanning for trouble. Together, they were unstoppable!

Suddenly, the neon signs flickered, and the happy street music turned… dreary. People started to frown, and even the delicious smell from the noodle stand seemed to vanish!

“Aha!” Rumi declared, pointing her glowing sword. “That’s the tell-tale sign of a Grumpy Gloom-Goo! It’s making everyone feel… meh!”

A wobbly, shimmering purple blob with droopy googly eyes oozed into the square. It left a trail of sticky, glittery goo. It looked less scary and more… terribly sorry for itself.

“Oh, dear,” sighed a nearby street performer, dropping their juggling pins. “I suddenly feel like I don’t want to juggle anymore. Everything is just… too much effort.”

“We can’t fight grumpiness with swords!” Rumi announced, sheathing her blade. “We need something more powerful, something that makes hearts sing and feet dance!”

Zoe grinned. “You mean… a dance battle?” Mira clapped her hands. “The ultimate K-pop showdown against the Gloom-Goo’s glumness!”

Rumi tapped her hip pouch. “Zoe, speakers! Mira, dazzling lights! Let’s show this Gloom-Goo the true power of pop!” The girls sprang into action, setting up their gear.

The Gloom-Goo wobbled, its googly eyes drooping even further. It seemed confused by the sudden flurry of activity. It just wanted everyone to be as quiet and un-sparkly as it was.

The first beat dropped! Rumi launched into a powerful, energetic dance, her purple braid whipping around. Mira’s ribbons glowed, and Zoe’s drumsticks pulsed with rhythm.

The Gloom-Goo tried to spread more grumpiness, oozing faster. But the music was too catchy! Its wobbly body started to jiggle, almost against its will.

The grumpy street performer tapped their foot. A little girl, who had been pouting, started to sway. The music was infectious, chasing away the gloom!

Rumi spun, Mira leaped, and Zoe stomped, their synchronized moves creating a whirlwind of joy. The Gloom-Goo looked utterly flummoxed, its goo now shimmering with faint colors.
