Huan's Colorful Promise

Huan the panda loved to draw. With his charcoal stick, he sketched everything he saw: buzzing bees, swaying bamboo, and fluffy clouds.

Grandfather had a special painting. It showed a rare bamboo flower, glowing with colors. It was his most treasured art.

One sunny afternoon, Huan admired the flower's bright petals. He held his charcoal stick, wishing he could draw such beauty.

Oh no! His paw slipped. A dark, messy smudge marked the precious painting. Huan’s heart sank.

He tried to rub it away, but the smudge grew worse. The beautiful flower was ruined! Huan felt a big lump in his throat.

Huan quickly hid the painting behind a curtain. He felt a heavy, secret weight in his tummy.

Later, Grandfather asked, "Where is my special flower painting, little one?" Huan mumbled, looking at his paws.

Huan knew he couldn't keep his secret. He needed help. He thought of his friend, Mei, the clever hummingbird.

Huan found Mei. "I ruined Grandfather's painting!" he whispered, showing her the smudged flower.

Mei zipped, "Don't worry, Huan! We can make new colors! The forest has many secrets."

Together, they ventured into the deep, green forest. Mei knew all the best places.

Mei led Huan to a bush with berries, as blue as the deepest sky. "These will make a lovely blue!" she chirped.

Next, they found bright yellow petals from a sun-petal flower, shining like tiny suns.
