Meet Gizmo! He was a brilliant little robot with shiny silver plating and eyes that glowed bright blue. More than anything, Gizmo loved to build. His workshop hummed with ideas.

Today, Gizmo was building a magnificent flying machine! He imagined it soaring high above the clouds, carrying him on grand adventures. He carefully connected wires and tightened bolts.

"Whirr-click-beep!" Gizmo announced, finishing his work. He pressed the big red button. The machine whirred, sputtered, then… *thump!* It wobbled and fell to the floor.

Gizmo's blue eyes dimmed. He had worked so hard! He picked up his invention, his little robot shoulders slumping. "Beep-boop-sad," he mumbled, a tiny whirring sigh escaping him.

He tried again! He adjusted wires, swapped out gears, and added a bigger propeller. "This time," he thought, "it *must* work perfectly." He pressed the button with hope.

*Sproing! Clatter!* The machine spun wildly, then bounced off the wall before landing upside down. Gizmo’s frustration grew. His blue eyes flashed a little brighter, but not with joy.

More tries, more failures. Each time, Gizmo felt a little spark of his inventor's joy flicker out. He kicked a loose bolt across the floor. "This is impossible!" he beeped angrily.

Just then, his programmer-mom, Byte, walked in. Her purple hair bounced as she smiled warmly. She saw Gizmo’s drooping posture and the scattered parts. "Oh, Gizmo-bot," she said softly.

Byte knelt beside him. "It looks like you've had a tough building day," she observed. Gizmo just whirred sadly. "Nothing works, Mom! My flying machine is a mess!"

"Hmm," Byte hummed thoughtfully. "Perhaps we can play a new game. It's called 'Oopsie-Daisy Engineering'!'" Gizmo tilted his head, his eyes blinking with curiosity.

"In Oopsie-Daisy Engineering," Byte explained, "mistakes aren't failures. They're 'secret features'! Each 'oopsie' is a clue leading to a completely new, unexpected invention."

Gizmo looked at his broken flying machine. A secret feature? He picked up a piece that had snapped off. It had a strange, springy coil. "But... what if it's just broken?" he asked.

"Let's find out!" Byte encouraged. "What if this springy bit isn't for flying at all? What else could it *do*?" Gizmo pondered, his optical sensors whirring softly.

Gizmo carefully re-examined the springy coil. He noticed it made a funny *boing* sound when he tapped it. An idea sparked! What if it could *bounce* things?
