Flora, a girl with bouncy brown pigtails, looked out her window. Rain, rain, go away! She sighed, her bright yellow raincoat unused.
"Hmm," Flora thought, a sparkle in her big blue eyes. She grabbed her favorite sketchbook and a chunky green crayon. Time for some drawing fun!
On her plain bedroom wall, Flora drew a big, round door. It had a swirly doorknob and a tiny keyhole. "Knock, knock!" she giggled.
Suddenly, the drawn door glowed with a soft, warm light. It slowly swung open, revealing a swirling rainbow tunnel. Flora gasped, her pigtails bouncing with excitement.
She bravely stepped through, into a world of wobbly lines. Everything was drawn: fluffy cloud trees, squiggly rivers. Welcome to Doodleland!
A wobbly stick figure, Sketchy, rushed over. Sketchy had big, worried circle eyes and a zig-zag smile. "Oh dear! Our colors are fading!" Sketchy cried.
The once bright red apples were now pale pink. Blue skies looked like faint grey smudges. Doodleland was losing its sparkle.
Flora looked at her own colorful drawings. She remembered drawing a happy sun for her friend. "Maybe we need happy feelings!" she suggested.
Flora drew a little bird sharing its worm with another bird. She imagined the birds' happy chirps. A tiny speck of red appeared on the worm.
Sketchy watched, then grabbed a crayon too. He drew a flower giving its petals to a sad bee. A gentle yellow glow spread from the flower.
