Esme loved winter more than anything! The world turned into a sparkling, white wonderland, just for her.

Her skin had special white patches, like tiny snowdrifts. They made her feel extra connected to the frosty magic.

Today, Esme had a very important mission: to build the best snowman ever! A truly magnificent, snowy friend.

She scooped and patted, but the snow was too soft. It crumbled like sugar, refusing to stick together.

"Oh, dear," she sighed, watching the powdery flakes drift away. She felt a little stuck. "How can I make a snowman with this?"

Her neighbor, Mr. Lee, was watching from his porch. He was an engineer, full of clever ideas.

"Having trouble with that snow, Esme?" he asked kindly. "It looks like perfect 'powder snow' today."

Esme nodded. "It just won't stick! It's too fluffy to make a proper snowball."

"Hmm," Mr. Lee mused. "Sometimes, things need a little help to become their best selves, to shine brightly."

"What if we added a tiny bit of water? Just enough to make the snow crystals happy?"

Esme tilted her head. Water? Wouldn't that just melt the snow away? It seemed like a strange idea.

"Let's try a small test," Mr. Lee suggested. He poured a gentle sprinkle onto a little pile.

Esme carefully pressed the damp snow. To her surprise, it clumped together! It was working!

"It's like magic!" Esme exclaimed, holding up a perfect, firm snowball. "But it's science!" Mr. Lee chuckled.
