David loved to build. His messy blonde hair bounced as he stacked blocks high. He often had a smudge of dirt on his cheek.
One sunny afternoon, Grandpa Joe came to visit. He had a big, warm smile.
"A special gift for my favorite builder!" Grandpa chuckled. David carefully unwrapped it.
Inside was a beautiful wooden train! It was long and shiny brown. David gasped with delight.
David tried to push his new train. But something was wrong. It wobbled and wouldn't roll.
He looked closely. Oh no! A wheel was missing! David felt a little sad.
Grandpa Joe saw David's sad face. "Don't worry, little builder," he said. "We can fix it!"
They went to Grandpa's workshop. It smelled of wood and adventure! Tools hung neatly everywhere.
Grandpa showed David a box of wood scraps. "We need a special piece," he explained.
David picked a small, roundish piece. "This one!" he declared. Grandpa smiled.
