Christie and Magpie's Feeling Adventure

This is Christie, and her very best friend, Magpie. Magpie isn't just any stuffed dog; he's Christie's emotional support animal.

Magpie has soft, patchwork fur, like a little magpie bird, but he’s a dog! He helps Christie understand her big, wobbly feelings.

Today, Christie felt a bit *hesitant*. Her tummy felt a little fluttery, like tiny butterflies were doing acrobatics inside.

"What's wrong, Christie?" Magpie seemed to ask with a gentle nudge. Christie knew exactly what he meant.

"We're going to the park," Christie whispered. "It's so busy there. My feelings feel all jumbled."

The park was full of loud shouts and fast-moving children. Christie felt a wave of *overwhelm* wash over her.

Magpie’s soft fur felt warm. "Remember our feeling-finder game?" he seemed to remind her.

Christie nodded. "My tummy feels fluttery, like tiny butterflies. And my hands feel a bit tingly."

"That sounds like *anticipation* and a little *timidity*," Magpie seemed to say. "It's okay to feel that."

They sat quietly for a moment. Christie watched the other children, some laughing, some running.

Then she saw a smaller child, sitting alone near a big oak tree. They looked a little lost.

Magpie nudged Christie's hand gently. His expression seems to encourage her.

Christie looks from the lonely child to Magpie, then back to the child. She takes a small, brave breath.
