📖 Read the Story

Carlos loved soccer more than anything. He lived in a vibrant favela, where every wall told a story.

He watched older kids play, their laughter echoing. Carlos dreamed of joining the local team.

But a little worry fluttered in his tummy. "Am I good enough?" he whispered to his ball.

One sunny afternoon, Carlos saw an old woman watching his wobbly kicks from her porch.

This was Tia Lucia, known for her wise stories and a twinkle in her eye. She used to play soccer too!

"Olá, pequeno campeão," she greeted, her voice soft. "Want to learn a secret or two?"

Every day, Carlos visited Tia Lucia. She showed him how to dance with the ball, not just kick it.

"Feel the rhythm," she'd say. "The ball is your friend." Carlos practiced every move.

He learned to pass with a whisper, and shoot with a roar. His confidence grew, little by little.

Soon, the big favela tournament arrived! Carlos still felt a nervous flutter, but it was smaller now.

The coach called his name! Carlos was on the team, ready to play in the final game.

The game was tough! The other team was strong. The score was tied, 0-0.

Carlos sat on the bench, his heart thumping. "You can do it," he heard Tia Lucia's voice in his head.

"Carlos, go in!" shouted the coach. Carlos took a deep breath and ran onto the field.
