Little Ben had a missing tooth. He loved to smile and explore. His eyes were always full of questions.
Grandpa's workshop was amazing! It was filled with wonderful things. Gears, wires, and wooden contraptions.
Ben always asked, "How does that work?" Grandpa always smiled and explained. He loved to share his secrets.
One day, Ben saw something new. It was an old, quiet clock. It sat high on a dusty shelf.
"Grandpa, this clock is broken!" Ben said. Its hands were stuck, its face cracked. It did not tick-tock anymore.
Ben looked inside the clock. Tiny pieces were all mixed up. "Can we fix it, Grandpa?" he asked.
Grandpa brought out tiny tools. He showed Ben little gears and springs. "These make the clock tick," he said.
Ben tried to put a gear in. It was very, very small. *Plink!* The gear rolled away.
Grandpa showed him how to hold it. Ben tried again, very slowly. He focused hard on the little gear.
Many pieces needed fixing. Some springs were tricky to place. It took a long, long time.
