Barnaby the badger cub trudged into his cozy sett. His little paws dragged on the soft moss.
Mama Badger looked up. "Hello, my sweet cub," she said. Barnaby mumbled, not looking at her.
His striped face was scrunched up tight. A little tear peeked from his big dark eye.
"What's wrong, little one?" Mama asked. Barnaby tried to speak, but no words came.
Mama smiled. "Let's play a game, my clever cub. 'Emotion Charades'!"
"We act out feelings without speaking," she explained. "The other person guesses!"
Barnaby nodded slowly. Mama gestured for him to start. He thought very hard.
Barnaby stomped his paw. He puffed out his cheeks, crossing his little arms.
Mama giggled. "Is that... grumpy?" she asked. Barnaby nodded, a small smile.
