Little Alex Hamilton had a head full of big, wild ideas! He loved to think and dream.
Today, his biggest idea was for a wonderful new town garden. It would have colorful flowers!
He tried to tell everyone about it. "Flowers! And a path! And... and a tall, tall swing!" he jumbled.
But his words tumbled out too fast, like leaves in the wind. Nobody quite understood his grand plan.
His friend, Angelica Schuyler, saw Alex looking sad. She was a clever girl, always ready to help.
"What's wrong, Alex?" she asked softly. "Your mind is buzzing with something wonderful, I can tell."
Alex sighed. "My garden idea! It's so clear in my head, but my words won't listen!"
"Sometimes, big ideas need a little help to become clear," Angie said. "Let's write it down."
They sat together on the porch, quills ready. "First, what's most important?" Angie asked.
"A big, beautiful garden for everyone to enjoy!" Alex exclaimed. Angie wrote it down carefully.
"Next, what will be in it?" she prompted. "Flowers, tall trees, and a winding path!" Alex listed.
They wrote about the sunny spots, the shady spots, and a special place for a big, joyful swing.
"Now, how will it help our town?" Angie asked. "Everyone can play and be happy together!" Alex grinned.
Their paper was full of neat words and little drawings. It was a perfect, clear plan!
